Olive and Len Trevor: Joint Patrons
Olive and Len Trevor were appointed as Joint Patrons of the Bromeliad Society of Queensland earlier this year. To celebrate, the Trevor’s are holding a members only event at The Olive Branch Bromeliad Nursery. Lunch will be provided along with tea/coffee on arrival. It will be a day of fun and socialising with other members.
Guest speaker, James G Lergessener will provide a light hearted look into the diary of a baby boomer as well as other topical issues. James is a biographer, memoir writer and historian. He started his writing career in 1993 as a contracted author with Boolarong Press, Brisbane. Dr Lergessner has been a university professor of education and academic consultant in Australia and Canada. He has published books relating to early Queensland, Brisbane and Caboolture Shire, Bribie Island and Moreton Bay.
About the Trevors
Olive and Len Trevor first joined the Society in February 1976. Olive has served in several committee positions including President, Vice President and Chief Judge. Olive has written articles for the Bromeliaceae journal and is widely respected for her service and expertise in bromeliads. Len has played a key supportive role for Olive and has also served in committee positions, including President.
The Trevors have regularly attended the Society meetings. They regularly open their home for study groups, field trips and judges school. They have generously donated plants for prizes and have donated plants to the refurbishment of the Roma Street Parklands.
